Rousay Brooch
An intricate pennanular brooch was found in a 9th century woman's grave on the west coast of Rousay. Probably coming to Orkney through barter or pillage, it was undoubtedly a treasured posession.

Though acquired by less dramatic means than the original, I could not have been more delighted by this exquisite brooch. The added bonus of a safety chain will ensure that I too will hopefully retain this treasure to the end of my days!
