In 1137, a beautiful cathedral was founded in Kirkwall, Orkney, in memory of St Magnus the Martyr. Built in warm red and yellow sandstone, gracefully decorated, Saint Magnus Cathedral remains the spiritual heart of these islands.

My daughter brought me a St. Magnus charm many years ago when she went to Kirkwall. I usually wear it all the time, but recently lost or misplaced it, and was devastated - so I ordered a new one. Many people think that it is a piece of James Avery jewelery - he is a well known jeweler here in the southwest.
