This design is based on the fish-scale like pattern on a piece of Neolithic Grooved Ware pottery found in early excavations at Links of Noltland, Westray, in 1980. The site has gone on to become one of the most important archaeological sites in Orkney, not least for being home to the famous Westray Wife figurine.
I fell in love with this ring in a shop on my way to visit Westray. It was sold out in my size so I hesitated. I ordered as soon as I left Westray — as I couldn’t stop thinking about it. My gran was born and raised on Westray before immigrating to Canada and I am ever so grateful to have such a meaningful piece to wear and signify how special this place is to me.

Ring purchase
I bought this ring when I visited Orkney in May, 2018 and it is my favorite purchase of my trip. It is unusual and gets lots of attention.

Product Review
Another one of Ola's Orkney collection that caught my eye. It looks delicate, but once on it has an impact - the lovely contrast between the gleaming silver and the black oxidised silver is lovely, very dramatic, ideal for any occasion
