This design is based on the fish-scale like pattern on a piece of Neolithic Grooved Ware pottery found in early excavations at Links of Noltland, Westray, in 1980.  The site has gone on to become one of the most important archaeological sites in Orkney, not least for being home to the famous Westray Wife figurine.

Ring purchase

I bought this ring when I visited Orkney in May, 2018 and it is my favorite purchase of my trip. It is unusual and gets lots of attention.

Another one of Ola's Orkney collection that caught my eye. It looks delicate, but once on it has an impact - the lovely contrast between the gleaming silver and the black oxidised silver is lovely, very dramatic, ideal for any occasion
